This is a short run/hike that winds right to the top of Lousely Hill, a short rise tucked into the northeastern corner of the McDowell Mountain Park. This 1.2 mile path provides fantastic views of the Verde River valley and plenty of cacti.

The steepest part of this trail is a half-mile into it, when you will hike up a ridge over a cliff to a spectacular vista east, showcasing the Verde River, Four Peaks, and the Mazatzal Mountains.

Continue carefully past the jumping cholla cacti to the top, continue north and then back down the mountain. From the bottom, head left up the wash back to the start.
